Aspen Square Daily News
A major snowstorm dropped up to 18 inches of new snow on the mountains of Aspen over the past days, and conditions are just the best. Wednesday was an epic Powder Day, and the skiing was absolutely amazing. More snow is expected for another day, then blue skies will return for more terrific skiing and snowboarding. Our snow is excellent and lodging rates are down, so come enjoy some turns with us and save this early December!
Aspen is fortunate to have its airport just a few miles away from the center of town, and it sure is convenient! This winter we have even more flights and seats coming into Aspen than last year. United provides frequent daily service between Aspen and Denver, and even more direct flights to Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston and San Francisco. American flies to Los Angeles and Dallas. New this year is daily Delta service to Atlanta and weekends to Minneapolis. Get a morning flight into Aspen and be skiing by lunch time!
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for our surrounding Elk Mountains and we're excited. The warning runs until early Thursday, so we're hoping for our first big snowfall - perhaps as much as a foot or more. Unlike other parts of the country, we happily embrace every snowfall, because we love to play in the snow - the deeper the better! Stay tuned for updates and check out our webcams tomorrow to see how we're doing.
